Our original and most popular adventure tour.  You’ll sea kayak, trek on a glacier, learn ice climbing and explore the Alaska backcountry on this challenging trip.  Come ready to play hard!

Real expedition sea kayaking (not just a day trip), glacier trekking, ice climbing, backpacking and a ride on the fastest zipline in Alaska.  A lot of variety without too much time on the road, covering Prince William Sound, Matanuska Glacier, and the Chugach and Talkeetna Mountains.

These are some of our toughest trips. You need not be a hard-core outdoors person or an athlete, and you do not need experience. But you do need to have above average fitness and be mentally tough to deal with the challenges of the Alaskan backcountry.

If you’re up for the challenge, your rewards will be great views, great memories and a real feeling of accomplishment. There’s also a bed, shower, pizza & beer half way through to keep you going!

Challenge Level: 4; Difficult backcountry travel on and off trail. May include snow, glacier and river crossings. Primitive camping. Read more about Challenge Levels.

No experience required but you must be over 18, in good physical condition and prepared for the challenges of the Alaska backcountry.

$2590.  Adventure Tour price includes all meals and activities listed.  For full details see The Fine Print

1

We’ll meet you in Anchorage, and after a gear check and orientation, you’ll enjoy one of the most scenic drives in the world as we head towards the small town of Whittier, the gateway to Prince William Sound. The afternoon will be spent paddling past waterfalls and bird rookeries then on to our campsite in the rainforest.

2

This is a big paddling day as we pass glaciers and ice bergs, look for seals, sea otters and more. Camp on a remote beach for the night.

3

Continue exploring as we make our way to our pick up point for a water taxi back to Whittier.  Like many modern adventurers, we’ll stop for pizza and beer before heading to a comfy inn for the night.  The bed and shower will get you ready for the second half of the week.

4

Explore the Matanuska Glacier and try out the exciting sport of ice climbing. Then hop on the fastest zipline in Alaska at the end of the day just to top off your adrenaline levels.  Enjoy the comforts of our Base Camp overlooking the glacier that evening with a cold beer around the fire, a soak in our hot tub and an Alaska-style BBQ.

5

You’ll head into the hills with everything you need for a couple of days on your back.  This challenging backpacking segment is what really separates you from the tourists!

6

Wake up to fresh brewed coffee with a view that you earned.  More hiking and exploring today.

7

The goal of today is hiking back to the van but it’s still a full day in the beautiful Alaska backcountry.  Return to Anchorage.
